Planned Gifts

Planned Gifts can allow you to make a larger contribution to the 10th Mountain Division Hut Association. Planned giving can be very appealing to the donor and 10th Mountain because informed donors can use estate and tax planning to maximize the value and impact of a gift while minimizing the consequence on an estate.

Bequest – Will or Living Trust | Gifts such as cash, appreciated securities/stock, real estate, or personal property may be exempt from capital gains tax and estate tax. Note that it is the policy of 10th Mountain to sell all stock gifts upon receipt.

Beneficiary Designation (for a life insurance policy or individual retirement account, for example) | These gifts are exempt from estate tax.

Charitable Gift Annuities, Charitable Remainder Trusts, & Charitable Land Trusts | These gifts may be attractive to donors interested in receiving some income and other financial benefits in exchange for the donation.
