Shrine mt trail

Post by pdimarzio » Tue May 14, 2019 10:23 pm

Has anyone been into any of the Shrine mtn huts? Heading up in 2 weeks and just wondering if we'll need snowshoes going in or if it will be packed down enough for just boots. (I know they've been getting dumped on but this week suppose to be big melt going on)
thanks!

Hi...We have a night booked Sunday, 6/23 at Shrine. I called 10th Mountain yesterday and the gentleman I spoke with said, the road in is not going to open Friday, as planned and it's not going to open "any time soon". He said, it's ok the first 1/8 mile and then it's completely snow covered. He recommended bringing snowshoes and leaving early. We were taking three kids up with us and have decided to sell our spots. :-(

Just spent 6/23 and 6/24 at Chuck’s (Shrine mtn); need snow shoes to get to the hut and to use the surrounding trails!
